This may be as narrow as a specific moment from a battle, such as the reenactment of Pickett’s Charge presented during the Great Reunion of , or as broad as an entire period, such as Regency reenactment.

The participants, called reenactors, often do research on the equipment, uniform, and other gear they will carry or use. Reenactors buy the apparel or items they need from specialty stores or make items themselves. I found a hudson and quickly got into the fray of what was the fastest and most exhilarating square dance of my life. The histories represented range from the First Nations of North America to the refugee crisis in Syria exploring race, identity, and representation and asserting the lived experiences of people left out of history.
